Ghost Bike In Process: San Francisco

Hi, my name is Lauren Eastman. I am a junior at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. I was Assistant Dramaturg and Props Designer/Builder, and Scenic Painter for Ghost Bike’s premiering production here. I also helped run stage left during production.

It’s neat to see the pre-production photographs of San Francisco University High’s production. Not only does it offer a trip down memory lane for me, but evokes a wonderful sense of excitement! I wish I could see the show and experience Ghost Bike, as interpreted and realized by these young folks.
It was such a dynamic experience and challenging process to build a show from a new and developing work. Looking back on it now, the evolution through script revisions, production meetings, rehearsals, and even performance nights was such an exciting one. And now, seeing these young kids work and experience a script that I watched evolve and had a small part in helping develop is amazing. And it’s neat that, once more, the show is evolving and growing with someone else, somewhere else!, for a new audience!
